Introduction and why I even started this blog?
Introduction
For those who don't know me, hi, I'm Matúš (pronounced as Matuush). I'm an 18-year old guy from Slovakia. I live in a certain border city in the western part of this country that just so happens to also be the most populous city in Slovakia. I speak Slovak as my native language, Czech on a relatively confident level (B2-C1; though to be honest I'd rather call it Slovak Czech, since I can't say "soft R" properly and my accent is very bad at least), English on an B1 level (including the "inferior island" accent, though I was told by a relative that I should stop doing it, which I wouldn't) and German somewhere between the A2 and B1 level. I used Linux as a virtual machine OS from 2016 to 2020, when I built my first ever computer amidst the Bitcoin gold rush, on which I installed Pop!_OS. I still use this PC (with some upgrades) to this very day. I semi-regularly write blog posts on https://typekmatus.blogspot.com, which (as of 20th February 2026) has over 11 000 views and almost 40 articles. I was on a two week mandatory internship in a security company called ESET, which is known among "normies" for their antivirus solution, NOD 32. My favorite programming language is Rust, but I also sometimes code in C++ (the preferred version of it is C++26). My least favourite language is C# because of being pointless unless you do Windows development, which I don't do. I use Zed as my preferred IDE and Neovim as my favorite . And I also contributed to several open-source projects, including winutil (where I contributed under name MatuuszGames), cdupage (probably the most contributions), rustup and pmaports, where I contributed a build script for building postmarketOS on my Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. I listen mainly to Deutschrap via OuterTune on my phone and via YouTube Music via Librewolf, where Deutschrap is better in every way than the English rap.
On topic of mobile phones and apps, I use Google Pixel 9a with GrapheneOS, which is objectively better and easier to use Android ROM in every way than stock Android (says the guy who installed a GSI on his Galaxy A53 5G and daily drove it until he got the Pixel).
With that out of the way, let's get to reasons why I started this second blog.
